Douglas County commissioners will make a decision Monday on what a local developer will pay to add 46.7 acres of property to the Yankee Tank Trunk Sewer District No. 2.
Commissioners agreed Dec. 1 by resolution to annex the property into the district but delayed a decision on assessments to be paid until Monday. People originally included in the district paid more than $414 per acre up front or in payments. Those who opted for payments also paid interest.
James Schwada of Northland Ventures, L.C., proposed the addition for Oread, L.C., Nollid West, L.C., and Nine Nineteen, L.C., property owners. The land is located northeast of the intersection of Sixth Street and Wakarusa Drive.
The commission will also consider authorizing township notices for cereal malt beverage licenses, vote on a 2 percent cost of living adjustment for 1998 and award contracts for Bid Package F for the Douglas County Jail.
The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. Monday at the Douglas County Courthouse, 11th and Massachusetts.
