— Services for Vida Mae Stevens, 56, Oskaloosa, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Barnett Funeral Home, Oskaloosa, with Brother Willis Cheatham officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Topeka.

Mrs. Stevens died Friday, Sept. 6, 1996, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital following a long illness.

She was born Feb. 4, 1940, in Fairview, Mo., the daughter of Minferd and Nellie Hutchins Embrey.

She had lived in Oskaloosa since 1969, moving from Topeka.

Mrs. Stevens was an Avon representative in the Oskaloosa area for many years.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in Oskaloosa.

She married Steven A. Stevens on Aug. 24, 1962, in Topeka. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Alan Stevens, Dallas; four daughters, Nina Oetting, Warrensburg, Mo., Bonnie Tremaine, Oskaloosa, Vivian Mountjoy, York, Neb., and Cherie Stevens, Oskaloosa; her mother; a brother, Lee Embrey; and two sisters, Clista Kruse and Wilma "Dee" Hilliard, all of Neosho, Mo.; and seven grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials to the Oskaloosa Church of Christ. Memorials may be made in care of the funeral home.
