— Funeral services for Harold K. Champion, 86, Tonganoxie, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church, Tonganoxie, with the Rev. David Petersen officiating. Burial will be in Hubbel Hill Cemetery, Tonganoxie.

Mr. Champion died Thursday, Sept. 5, 1996, at the Lawrence Presbyterian Manor.

He was born Jan. 9, 1910, in rural McLouth, the son of Fred and Eleanor Slawson Champion. He moved to Tonganoxie in 1946 from McLouth,and owned the Champion IGA Grocery Store in Tonganoxie for 33 years. Previously, he had owned a grocery store in McLouth.

Mr. Champion was a member of the United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Tonganoxie Kiwanis Club.

He married Dorothy White Jan. 28, 1931, in McLouth. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Joann Schultz, Tonganoxie, and Marilyn Stahl, Spring Hill; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie. Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church Endowment Fund or to the Lawrence Presbyterian Manor Good Samaritan Fund.
