A gun apparently went off at a crowded North Lawrence restaurant and bar early Sunday morning, but only one witness would tell police what happened.
Just before 2 a.m. Sunday, a fight involving up to 15 people broke out at Los Amigos, 504 Locust, followed by a gunshot. A round from a handgun was reportedly fired into the ground, Lawrence police spokeswoman Sgt. Susan Hadl said.
When police arrived on the scene, no one wanted to talk to officers or be listed as a witness or a victim on a police report, Hadl said.
"We finally found one individual who said the weapon had been fired into the ground and gave a description of the person and the vehicle," Hadl said.
Officers were unable to locate either, she said.
At the scene, officers found no shell casings or other evidence of a gunshot.
