— Where's the fire?

That question may be on Oskaloosa residents' minds this weekend, when firefighters from throughout northeast Kansas are scheduled to visit the city.

But there's no cause for alarm.

The Jefferson County Firefighters Assn. has set its annual Fall Rural Fire School for today and Sunday. Firefighters from Douglas, Leavenworth, Atchison, Jackson, Shawnee and Osage counties are scheduled to attend.

Class topics include pump operation, driver training and liability management.

This evening, students will take part in a live propane gas fire exercise.

Classes will be held from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
