Independence Inc. will present its annual Community Access Awards to two people and to two organizations at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at 1910 Haskell.

The Roger Williams Community Access Award will be presented posthumously to Michael R. Todd for his advocacy efforts for people with disabilities.

The Community Access Award will be presented to Kevin Robinson, a columnist whose column, "Life is Like That" appears in the Journal-World and the Detroit Free Press.

Community Access Awards also will be presented to the Pilot Club of Lawrence, for its fund-raising activities for children, senior citizens and people with disabilities, and to Douglas County Area Transportation.

An Independence Inc. task force selected the winners from nominations received in the last four months.
