— Funeral services for Evelyn A. Hoit, 87, Oskaloosa, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in McLouth with the Rev. Scott Berry officiating. Burial will be in McLouth Cemetery.

Mrs. Hoit died Saturday, Oct. 5, 1996, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 14, 1909, northwest of Bonner Springs in Leavenworth County. She had lived in Oskaloosa since 1992, after moving from McLouth, where she had lived for 30 years. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the McLouth First Baptist church.

She married Earl J. Hoit on Feb. 12, 1929, in Kansas City, Kan. He died Nov. 20, 1991.

Other survivors include two sons, Robert E. Hoit, Kansas City, Kan. and Evan L. Hoit, McLouth; three daughters, Jeannine Pierce, Troy, Betty A. Williams, Wagoner, Okla., and Peggy E. Howey, Meriden; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Friends may call from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa.
