Services for Erma M. Barnes, 78, Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary with the Rev. Ron Mickley officiating. Entombment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum.
Mrs. Barnes died Friday, Nov. 15, 1996, at her home.
She was born March 7, 1918, in Rolla, Mo., the daughter of Walter and Amanda Burton Elms.
She had lived in Lawrence since 1952, moving here from Rolla.
Mrs. Barnes was a homemaker. She was a former employee of Bendix/King Radio in Lawrence.
She was a member of the Clinton Parkway Assembly of God Church in Lawrence.
She married John Barnes in March 1936, in Rolla, Mo. He died Feb. 23, 1963. She also was preceded in death by two sons, Jimmy Barnes and Walter Barnes.
Survivors include five daughters, Virgie Farmer, Eudora, Pat Bailey, Mayetta, Linda Buckins, Morristown, Tenn., Kay Holden, Lawrence, and Jenny Barnes, Lawrence; four sons, Leroy Barnes, Kansas City, Kan., Everett Barnes, Wichita, Roger Barnes, Lyndon, and Johnny Barnes, Lawrence; a sister, Isabelle Williams, Rolla, Mo., 30 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at the mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to the Erma M. Barnes Memorial Fund. Memorials may be sent in care of the mortuary.
