— Services for Charles F. Hornberger, 73, Baldwin, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John's United Church of Christ near Worden. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery.

Mr. Hornberger died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 1996, at St. Francis Hospital, Topeka.

He was born Feb. 2, 1923, in Douglas County, the son of William and Lena Stoebener Hornberger.

He attended Colyer Rural School and Lawrence High School.

Mr. Hornberger was a dairy farmer and a lifetime member of St. John's United Church of Christ.

He was a member of and served on the boards of directors for the Kansas City Division of the Mid-American Dairy Farmers Assn., Douglas County Extension Agency and Kansas Farm Bureau.

He married Erma G. Hurrelbrink on Sept. 1, 1944. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Janet R. Breihaupt, Lawrence, and Judith Runft, Belleville; two sons, Victor and Charles "Chip" Jr., both of Baldwin; a sister, Marie Brohammer, Baldwin; three brothers, Julius, Baldwin, Herbert, Lawrence, and Ernest, Eskridge; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, Baldwin.

Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Assn. or to the American Heart Assn., sent in care of the funeral home.
