Mclouth Services for David Hayward McHenry, 54, McLouth, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at McLouth United Methodist Church. Burial will be at McLouth Cemetery.
Mr. McHenry died Tuesday, May 14, 1996, at Scottsdale, Ariz., Memorial Hospital after an apparent heart attack.
He was born July 28, 1941, in McLouth, the son of Harold H. "Mac" and Bertha I. Hayward McHenry.
Mr. McHenry, a lifelong McLouth resident, graduated from McLouth High School in 1959. He was a rural mail carrier in Oskaloosa and McLouth for the past 37 years. He had also worked for Phillips Petroleum Co. in Kansas City, Mo., and McHenry Oil Co. in McLouth. He served for five years in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of McLouth United Methodist Church and its choir. He was a 35-year member of the McLouth Kiwanis Club and a member of the City of McLouth Planning Board and the McLouth Cemetery Board.
He married Myra Jean Jungmann on Dec. 27, 1959, in McLouth. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include three sons, Richard D. McHenry, Oskaloosa, Ron McHenry, Topeka, and David Kirk McHenry, McLouth; a daughter, Devy McHenry, McLouth; and six grandchildren.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Friday at McLouth United Methodist Church, where the family will meet with friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday.
The family suggests memorials to McLouth United Methodist Church or an organization of the donor's choice.
