Baldwin Services for Elizabeth Ebright, 84, Baldwin, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Baldwin. Private burial will follow.
Ms. Ebright died Monday, May 6, 1996, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Homer Kingsley Ebright.
A graduate of Baker University, she earned a master's degree in English from Kansas University and a graduate degree in library science from the University of Illinois.
Ms. Ebright was a high school librarian at Kewanee, Ill., for four years. She worked as assistant librarian at Washburn University from 1942 to 1945, when she was promoted to head librarian. She held that position for 20 years. She moved back to Baldwin in 1965 and taught in the English department at Baker University until 1982, when she retired. She received the Grace Irwin Service Award from Baker in May 1982 and a Baker Alumna Citation in May 1988.
She was a longtime member of the National League of American Pen Women, and more than 200 of her poems have been published. She served as a trustee on the Baldwin Library Board for 10 years.
Ms. Ebright was a member of United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, P.E.O., Alpha Chi Omega, AAUW, Tuesday Reading Club and Phi Beta Kappa, all in Baldwin.
The family suggests memorials to the United Methodist Church. They may be sent in care of Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
