Kansas City, Mo. — Services for William C. Unger Jr., 78, Kansas City, Mo., will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mount Moriah and Freeman Chapel with Deacon Dottie Frazell officiating. Burial will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery.
Mr. Unger died Friday, March 22, 1996, at St. Joseph Health Center in Kansas City, Mo.
He was born March 30, 1917, in St. Louis, the son of William C. and Estelle Poland Unger.
Mr. Unger was a veteran of World War II and served with the Army Air Corps. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal for flying the China-India-Burma airlift mission.
He was a member of the American Legion and the Marlborough Masonic Lodge.
He married Linda L. Unger. She proceeded him in death.
Survivors include three sons, Jeffrey J. Unger, Kansas City, Mo., William C. Unger III, Georgetown, S.C. and Robert R. Unger, Overland Park; three daughters, Amy E. Wozniak, Boise, Idaho; Carol L. Harris, Lawrence, and Annette M. Minor, Overland Park; and nine grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at Mount Moriah and Freeman Chapel.
The family suggests memorials to the American Legion.
