Susan Wunder, formerly of Lawrence, has been named as child care center manager at North Kansas City Hospital. She has an early childhood education degree from Kansas University and has worked in the child care center at Hoechst Marion Roussel (formerly Marion Merrell Dow) for the past five years.

Olene Sturdevant, owner of the Olene Sturdevant Agency and representative for Farmers New World Life Insurance Company, was named the No. 1 salesperson in the state of Kansas for life sales during February. Olene is a member of the Lawrence Association of Life Underwriters.

Curtis Crawford has been named president of GravityWorks Inc., Lawrence.

Crawford graduated from Pittsburg State University with a degree in computer information systems. He received his master's in finance from Rockhurst College.

At GravityWorks, Crawford will be responsible for presenting recommendations to the board of directors and managing the implementation of new programs. He previously worked at Hallmark Cards.

Deborah L. French has earned the Graduate, REALTOR Institute designation. GRI designees gain membership in the National Association of Realtors.

French earned the designation by attending at least 120 hours of classroom instruction on subjects like contract law, professional standards and financing.

French is an agent with Hedges Real Estate in Baldwin.

Mike O'Donnell, regional director of the Kansas University Small Business Development Center, is one of 12 people selected nationwide by the Kauffman Foundation to be trained as an instructor for a new workshop being launched later this year.

The workshop is a practical skill-based presentation designed to help entrepreneurs improve their sales.

O'Donnell will undergo 50 hours of training as a workshop presenter and will offer the program locally this fall.

Charles E. McPheeters, CLU, ChFC, MSFS, of Lawrence, was recently recognized by Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co. of Milwaukee for more than 30 years with the company.

His life sales total almost $90 million on more than 3,000 lives with Northwestern Mutual.
