— Services for Stella Edna Cook, 87, Valley Falls, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church, Valley Falls, with the Rev. Jon Boyd officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery, Oskaloosa.

Mrs. Cook died Sunday, March 17, 1996, at the Village Villa in Nortonville, where she had lived for three years.

She was born May 30, 1908, in rural Ozawkie, the daughter of Edward and Lulu North Bledsoe.

She had lived most of her life in Jefferson County. She was a homemaker and also worked as a cook at a nursing home in Winchester for several years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She married Benjamin Cook on Sept. 16, 1926. He died Oct. 3, 1963.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Lou Carey, Topeka; four half brothers, Tom Stewart, Lawrence, Leland Stewart, Baldwin, and Dave and Gene Stewart, both of Topeka; a half sister, May Langston, Oskaloosa; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Ruth Marie Harding in 1986, and Letty L. Tucking, in 1994.

Friends may call from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Barnett Funeral Home, Oskaloosa, and from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
