Mclouth — Services for Ruth J. Gensler, 93, Oskaloosa, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church, McLouth, with the Rev. Scott Berry officiating. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Kansas City, Kan.
Mrs. Gensler died Wednesday, March 6, 1996, at Jefferson County Memorial Hospital, Winchester.
She was born April 3, 1902, in Ada, Okla., the daughter of Wesley and Gertie Peppard Burgoyne.
She was raised in the McLouth area and was a 1929 graduate of McLouth High School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in McLouth.
Mrs. Gensler was a resident of the Hickory Pointe Care Center in Oskaloosa since 1990. She moved there from Kansas City, Kan., where she had lived for more than 40 years.
She was a sales clerk at a J.C. Penny store in Kansas City, Kan. for more than 25 years until retiring in 1970.
She married Amos T. Gensler in July 1920. He died Oct. 16, 1976. She also was preceded in death by a son, T. A. Gensler.
Survivors include a son, Arnold L. Gensler, McLouth; a daughter, Gwendolyn Janasz, Stanwood, Wash.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Barnett Funeral Home, Oskaloosa.
The family suggests memorials to the First Baptist Church of McLouth.
