Several Lawrence High School forensics team members won awards last weekend at the Silver Lake Invitational Forensics Tournament.
Two LHS students qualified for the state speech championships in May. They are Melissa Dray in dramatic interpretation and Tom Seymour in extemporaneous speaking.
Other LHS students earning awards and their events: Isaac Hilpman, Lincoln-Douglas debate; Justin Wood, extemporaneous speaking and Student Congress; Matt Jansen, Student Congress; Peter Higgins, Student Congress; Hannah Crabb, Student Congress; Matt Hochstetler, extemporaneous speaking and Student Congress; and Matt Gaus, Student Congress.
The LHS forensics team will compete this weekend at the Topeka West Invitational.
