Services for A. Julius Dietz, 85, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Don Miller officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Dietz died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 1996, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 8, 1910, in Russell County, the son of Wilhelm and Natalie Krug Dietz.
He and his wife farmed in Ness County until 1956. They then moved to Holton, where they farmed until 1965. The couple moved to Topeka, where Mr. Dietz worked for Josten's American Yearbook Company from 1982 until 1987. Upon retirement in 1987, he moved to Lawrence.
Mr. Dietz was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Layman's League.
He married Freda L. Tittel on May 3, 1936, in Bazine. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Ellen M. Polacca and Caryn L. Scott, both of Lawrence; a son, Hattan L., Lawrence; a brother, Tobias, Ness City; a sister, Matilda Jones, Ness City; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will greet friends from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
The family suggests memorials to the Haskell L.I.G.H.T. They may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, which is in charge of arrangements.
