Midwest Express Airlines will begin offering nonstop flights each weekday from Kansas City International Airport to Boston and Omaha on Sept. 9.

No airline currently offers nonstop service from Kansas City to Boston.

Midwest Express, based in Milwaukee, said Thursday it would have early-morning and mid-afternoon departures each weekday from Kansas City to Boston. The airline will continue its current late-afternoon flight from Kansas City to Boston via Milwaukee.

The airline already has daily early-morning and early-afternoon flights from Boston to Kansas City via Milwaukee. To those, it will add two nonstop flights each weekday, in late morning and the evening.

Midwest Express will also begin offering 10 nonstop flights each weekday between Kansas City and Omaha, five in each direction.
