Services for Minnie M. Allen McAfee, 61, Lecompton, will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lecompton United Methodist Church. Cremation is planned.
Mrs. McAfee died Saturday, June 8, 1996, at her home.
She was born July 24, 1934, in McLouth, the daughter of William and Rachel Edmonds Allen.
Mrs. McAfee grew up and attended school in the McLouth and Oskaloosa areas. She worked at Kansas University, USD 343, the Douglas County Extension Service and the Council on Aging in Lawrence. She was instrumental in the expansion of senior meal sites in Douglas County.
She was a longtime member of Lecompton United Methodist Church.
She married Donald R. McAfee on March 12, 1953, in McLouth. He survives, of the home.
Other survivors include three daughters, Teresa Posey, Independence, Mo., Janette Wilkinson, Aledo, Ill., and Cindy Woods, Bedford, Tex.; two sons, Darryl McAfee, Atchison, and Wayne McAfee, Belvue; four brothers, Russell Allen, Independence, Mo., Marlin Allen, Overland Park, Harold "Ray" Allen, Kansas City, Kan., and John Allen, Lawrence; and 11 grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Hospice Care in Douglas County, the American Diabetes Assn. or the Kansas Dialysis Center, Topeka. They may be sent in care of Barnett Funeral Home, Oskaloosa, which is in charge of arrangements.
