I was told women are "legally" allowed to join Rotary Clubs. What politician decided that? Why don't they keep their noses out of this kind of organization?
On May 4, 1987, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled, 7-0, that women must be admitted to Rotary Clubs. Until that time, Rotary was all male.
In response, the Lions Club International voted to admit women on July 4, 1987, and Kiwanis International followed suit three days later.
