Burglaries and thefts reported

  • A stereo, TV and VCR valued together at $1,407 were taken between 3:30 p.m. and 5:49 p.m. Monday from a residence in the 1900 section of East 1500 Road, Eudora.
  • Miscellaneous electronic equipment, firearms and a bench grinder valued together at $1,550 were taken between 4:40 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. Monday from a residence in the 1500 section of East 660 Road, Lawrence.

Fire calls

Lawrence firefighters:

  • Investigated a report of a downed power line at 3:46 p.m. Monday in the 2600 block of Mountainview. A tree limb had reportedly knocked out service temporarily.
  • Investigated a false alarm at 3:53 p.m. Monday at Watson Library on the Kansas University campus.
  • Investigated a report of a downed power line at 3:56 p.m. Monday at 100 Kasold. Lightning had apparently knocked out service temporarily.
  • Investigated a report of smoke and sparks emanating from the top of a power pole at 5:12 p.m. Monday at 2336 La. The sparking stopped prior to firefighters' arrival.
  • Investigated an alarm at 9:30 p.m. Monday at 505 Monterey. Call was canceled en route.

Ambulance report

The Douglas County Ambulance Service reported the following responses

  • Medical emergency, 12:12 a.m. Tuesday, 1400 block of Tennessee, no transport.
