Services for Judith Anne "Judy" LaFollette, 54, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home with Rev. Noel Stephens officiating. A True Kindred service will also be held then. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. LaFollette died Friday, Feb. 16, 1996, at her home in Lawrence after a lengthy illness.
She was born July 7, 1941, in Lawrence, the daughter of Argus Aron and Grace Elizabeth Perkins Pearson.
Mrs. LaFollette was a 1959 Lawrence High School graduate and attended Kansas University for a year. She worked at KU as a secretary in the independent studies, housing and math departments until 1982. She then worked at the State Insurance Department in Topeka until 1995 when she quit because of an illness.
She was a member and and past director of the Sweet Adelines. She was also a member of Fidelity White Shrine of Jerusalem, Evelena Chapter OES of Lane, Social Order of Beauceant in Lawrence, Central Methodist Church in Lawrence and the Miriam Conclave, Order of the Kindred of Kansas City, Kan. At the time of her death, she was Honorary Worthy Grand Commander of the Order of True Kindred of Kansas.
She married Kyle O. LaFollette on July 31, 1960, in Lawrence. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Joanne Drury, Lawrence, and Kathy Zeller, Lecompton; her parents, of Lawrence; a brother, Jerry Pearson, Rochester, N.H.; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today and Monday, and from 9 a.m. until the service time Tuesday at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where a White Shrine service will be held at 8 p.m.
The family suggests memorials to Hospice Care in Douglas County. They may be sent in care of the funeral home.
