NOEL, MO. Services for Floyd D. Noel, 65, Noel, were held Monday at Ozark Funeral Home, Noel, with the Rev. Dick Sanders officiating. Burial was in Noel Cemetery.
Mr. Noel died Friday, Feb. 9, 1996, at his home after a long illness.
He was born March 31, 1930, in a Model T car at Ellinwood, Kan., the son of Floyd D. and Beatrice Baker Noel.
He moved to Noel 11 years ago from Lawrence, Kan. He was a driver for various truck lines and an officer for the Kansas University Police Department for 18 years. He resigned from KUPD in April 1985 after achieving the rank of sergeant.
Mr. Noel was a Navy veteran and a member of the Eagles in Lawrence.
He married Virginia Troyer on Oct. 12, 1978, in Ottawa. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Floyd "Skip" Noel III, Bolivar; three daughters, Pamela Minter, Kansas City, Kan., Carolyn Renton, Noel, and Becky Tracy, Lawrence; a sister, Carol Sue McGinty, Houston; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
