A Lawrence woman was listed in serious but stable condition at an area hospital after being injured in an automobile accident Monday at 23rd and Naismith.
Kristi Kathman, 19, was in an intensive care unit at the Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan., after being injured in the accident about 12:20 p.m.
Kathman was taken by ambulance to Lawrence Memorial Hospital and then taken by helicopter to KUMC. Two other Lawrence residents, Ron Francisco and Elaine Adams, were treated at LMH and released. Their ages weren't immediately available.
Authorities said that witnesses reported Kathman was driving west on 23rd street when her vehicle collided with a vehicle that was turning left, in her path, onto Naismith from 23rd. Kathman's vehicle than went through the intersection, striking another vehicle in an eastbound lane of 23rd, authorities said.
