Two men were injured in a two-car accident Wednesday night south of Lawrence.
One man was taken by LifeStar helicopter to the Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan., and another was taken by the Douglas County Ambulance Service to Lawrence Memorial Hospital after an accident about 10:45 p.m.
Witnesses said a Nissan Sentra traveling west on County Road 1250 North was rear-ended by a Chevrolet Malibu, which reportedly was traveling at a high speed. The accident occurred near the intersection of 1250N and County Road 1600 East, about a mile southeast of Lawrence.
The names and hometowns of the injured were not immediately available. Authorities were investigating the accident late Wednesday night.
