Services for Evelyn Ruth Sassman, 87, Lawrence, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Davidson Chapel in Topeka. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka.
Mrs. Sassman died Saturday, Feb. 3, 1996, at her home.
She was born Oct. 13, 1908, near Netawaka, the daughter of Clyde Ammon and Lillian Sewell Ammon.
She lived in Topeka, Meriden and Iola, and spent 20 years in Salinas, Calif., after retirement. She returned to Lawrence in 1990.
Survivors include three daughters, Barbara May Holton and Jeanne Longaker, both of Lawrence, and Gayla Fontana, Salinas, Calif.; two sons, Steve Sassman, Lawrence, and Gary Sassman, Richview, Ill.; three sisters, Norma Magnuson, Topeka, and Violet Bristow and Fern Hopkins, both of Bakersfield, Calif.; 22 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 11 a.m. today at Davidson Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.
