A robbery in the downtown area early Tuesday evening ended well for the victim: she got her wallet back.
About 7 p.m., a man bumped into a 27-year-old Kansas University student in the 700 block of Massachusetts and took her wallet, which she was holding in her hand.
The suspect ran south to Eighth Street and turned east. The victim, who was walking with an acquaintance, ran after the suspect, police spokeswoman Sgt. Susan Hadl said.
She chased him east on Eighth Street to Rhode Island, where he dropped the wallet and kept running. An unidentified female standing in the vicinity picked it up and was holding it when the victim crossed Rhode Island.
The suspect is described as white, 18 to 25 years old, skinny, between 5 feet 10 and 6 feet tall, with short brown hair. He was wearing a tie-dye T-shirt, blue jeans, and a baseball cap pulled down over his face.
