— Services for Arta Mae Fowler, 64, Basehor, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Quisenberry Chapel in Tonganoxie. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Basehor.

Mrs. Fowler died Friday, Aug. 9, 1996, at Cushing Memorial Hospital in Leavenworth.

She was born Aug. 16, 1931, in Stigler, Okla., the daughter of Arthur and Jewel Pennington Hendrick. She was a registered nurse and worked for the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Leavenworth for 30 years. She was a member of the American Nurses Assn. and the Retired Nurses Assn.

She married Verl Dean Fowler on Aug. 20, 1953, in Raton, N.M. He died March 24, 1975.

Survivors include a son, Charles Edwin Fowler, Basehor; a daughter, Diana Dee Baker, McLouth; a sister, Betty J. Cobb, Liberal; and five grandchildren.

Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Quisenberry Chapel, where the family will meet with friends.

The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Assn. or the American Heart Assn., in care of the Quisenberry Funeral Home, PO Box 993, Tonganoxie, 66086.

The Quisenberry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
