Services for Daryl J. Schueler, 35, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with the Revs. Paul Kelly, Sandy Schlesselman and Jeff Lilley officiating. Entombment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Schueler died Wednesday, April 24, 1996, in an airplane crash near Buffalo, Mo.
He was born Jan. 16, 1961, in Wichita, the son of William and Gloria Hoyer Schueler.
He lived in Lawrence since 1979, having moved from Wichita. Since July 1995, he worked as an aerospace engineer for the Federal Aviation Administration out of the Wichita aircraft certification office. From 1983 to 1995, he had worked in Lawrence for Kohlman Systems Research Inc.
Mr. Schueler received a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering from Kansas University in 1983 and was a member of the Kansas University Alumni Association. He was a member of the American Institute of Aeronautics & Astronautics, the Sigma Gamma Tau aerospace honor fraternity and the Tau Beta Pi engineering honor fraternity. He was an Eagle Scout and member of the Vigil Order of the Arrow in the Boy Scouts of America. He also was an avid and competitive handball player.
He married Sindey McCleery on May 22, 1982, in Smith Center. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Samantha and Sindra Schueler, of the home; his parents, of Wichita; a brother, Eric, of Westport, Wash.; and paternal grandmother, Lillian Schueler, Wichita.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to the Samantha and Sindra Schueler Education Fund. They may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, which is in charge of arrangements.
