Lawrence police were busy Thursday night as two reports of gunshots from vehicles and a robbery at gunpoint streamed across dispatcher airwaves between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.

"We're inundated right now," said police Sgt. Doug Bell. "We're just trying to sort it all out."

Police were investigating the following incidents:

  • A robbery in which a car stereo reportedly was taken at gunpoint from a victim near Planet Pinball, 23rd and Louisiana.
  • A report of gunshots from a vehicle in the 3600 block of Brush Creek. Several rounds were reportedly fired from the occupants of a Honda.

A similar vehicle description was given in the armed robbery at 23rd and Louisiana. Police were searching for the vehicle late Thursday night.

  • A report of gunshots from a vehicle near 22nd and Harper. The vehicle reportedly was described as a Yellow and White blazer.

Police were sending or had just sent officers to the reported incidents Thursday night and little information was available, Bell said. There were no reports of injuries.
