Representatives of the three groups that have proposed partnerships with Lawrence Memorial Hospital will appear at a public forum from 10 a.m. to noon today in Lawrence Memorial Hospital's auditorium, 325 Maine.
The three speakers will explain the proposals and answer questions from the audience.
The speakers will be David Nevill, chief operating officer of Columbia/HCA Healthcare Corp.'s Mt. Oread Medical Arts Centre in Lawrence; Dennis McClatchey, senior vice president of corporate relations for the Health Midwest group of hospitals; and Mike Abell, CEO of St. Joseph Hospital Center in St. Joseph, Mo., which is part of the Health First hospital group.
The LMH board is working to reach a decision in January on which, if any, of the partnership proposals to pursue. LMH is owned by the city.
Today's forum is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Lawrence-Douglas County and will be moderated by league member Mabel Rice, a professor of speech, language and hearing at Kansas University.
