In addition to electing Howard Mossberg its chairman, the nine-member Lawrence Memorial Hospital board on Wednesday elected two members to officers' positions even though their terms expire Sept. 30 and Mayor Bob Moody may not reappoint them.
Don Johnston was elected vice chairman and Stephen Craig was elected treasurer.
Donna Bell, whose term expires in 1998, was elected secretary.
The LMH board is appointed by the mayor with the city commission's consent. City policy is that members serve no more than two consecutive four-year terms.
Moody said Wednesday that he still hasn't decided whether he will reappoint Johnston and Craig. If he doesn't, they will be off the board after 10 days.
Moody also hasn't announced who will fill a board seat that becomes vacant Oct. 1. Sidney Garrett is giving up the seat two years before her second term expires to spend more time with her business, Brown Cargo Van Inc., a Lawrence truck body manufacturer.
