A rock-throwing vandal, and the damage he's done to a downtown office building, is the latest case to gain the attention of Crime Stoppers of Lawrence and Douglas County.
Officials with the Crime Stopper's program are asking for the public's assistance in locating the suspect, or suspects, in the vandalism reported six times within the last seven months at 303 W. 11th.
The building houses the law office of Sherri Loveland and Margie Wakefield and the Credit Bureau of Lawrence Inc.
Police Officer Victoria Moore, Crime Stoppers' coordinator, said the vandalism occurred the nights of Feb. 17, March 2, April 24, May 14, July 15 and Sept. 5. In each of the incidents, either a rock or brick was thrown through a window or a glass door.
Damage has been estimated at $2,730.
Moore said police know of no motive for the vandalism.
Anyone with information about the crimes, or the person who committed them, is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 843-TIPS (8477). Callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 if the information they provide leads to an arrest and conviction in the case.
