Monterey Way is a beautiful stretch of road for walking and biking between Sixth Street and 15th Street, but it's very dangerous because there are no sidewalks there. Does the city have any plans to install a sidewalk?

The city plans to install new sidewalks along Monterey Way once the road is reconstructed to meet city standards, said Terese Gorman, city engineer.

Right now, Monterey is not slated for reconstruction -- from Clinton Parkway to Harvard Road -- until at least 1998. That's when the city has tentatively set aside $100,000 for designing the reconstruction.
