The Lawrence Public Library and the Kansas Humanities Council are sponsoring a series of discussions on "Stories to Live By: Health and Medicine in Literature."
The first session in the series will be at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 19 at the Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vt. It will focus on the book "At Risk" by Alice Hoffman. The discussion will be led by Frederick A. Krebs of Johnson County Community College. Subsequent session will be held every other Thursday at the library. Other books covered in the series are "The Stone Angel," "Whose Life is it Anyway?" and "The Death of Ivan Ilyich."
