Mary Elizabeth Turner

Topeka-- Memorial services for Mary Elizabeth Turner, 81, Topeka, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bowser Johnson Funeral Chapel.

Mrs. Turner died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 1995, at a Topeka nursing home.

She was born May 23, 1914, in Lakeview, the daughter of George Washington Lewis and Mary Alice Daniels.

She moved to Kansas City, Mo., in 1964 and then to Topeka in 1995. She was a housekeeper for Kansas University.

She was a member of St. Luke AME Church in Lawrence.

She married Harold William Turner on April 20, 1935, in Topeka. He died in 1969.

Survivors include two sons, William Turner, Queens, N.Y., and Robert Turner, San Diego; two daughters, Dolores F. Austin and Louise Jones, both of Topeka; 25 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a friend, George Logan, Kansas City, Mo.

Bowser Johnson Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
