Charles Edwards Schwegler

Mass of Christian Burial for Charles Edwards Schwegler, 54, St. Joseph, Mo., will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the St. Lawrence Catholic Center with the Rev. Vincent Krische officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Schwegler died Monday Nov. 6, 1995, at his home.

He was born Dec. 18, 1940, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Raymond and Alice Wilson Schwegler.

He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1958 and received degrees in pharmacy and microbiology from Kansas University. He was a pharmacist and had worked at the Heartland Hospital in St. Joseph, Mo., for the past year and a half. He had previously worked in several towns in Kansas.

Mr. Schwegler was a member of Lawrence Lodge No. 6, AF&AM and Lawrence Scottish Rite Bodies, 32nd degree. He also was a member of the Audubon Society and St. Lawrence Catholic Center.

Survivors include two sons, Charles E. Jr., Mission, and Sam, Atomic City, Idaho; a daughter, Kelley Bretz, Iowa City, Iowa; his parents, of Lawrence; two brothers, Dr. Raymond Jr., Mission Hills, and David, Leesville, S.C.; and two grandchildren.

A rosary will be said at 8 p.m. today at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to the St. Lawrence Catholic Center or the American Diabetes Assn. They may be sent in care of the mortuary.
