Paul E. Spellman

Gypsum -- Services for Paul E. Spellman, 77, Gypsum, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Gypsum with the Rev. Les Cantrell officiating. Burial will be in the Gypsum Cemetery.

Mr. Spellman died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 1995, at his home.

He was born June 4, 1918, in Gypsum, the son of Charles E. and Martha Mortimer Spellman. He was a farmer, stockman and dairyman west of Gypsum for many years. He had been a lifelong resident of Gypsum. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Salina County Farm Bureau and the Dairy Herd Improvement Assn. He had served many years on the Gypsum Valley Cemetery Board.

He was married to Irma Spellman. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Gary L., Lyons, and Wayne E., Lawrence; a daughter, Gail E. Assink, Lynden, Wash.; a brother, Don, Gypsum; a sister, Martha "Babe" Fransham, Wichita; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Karber Gillum Funeral Home in Gypsum.

The family suggests memorials to the Southeast of Saline Scholarship Fund in care of Karber Gillum Funeral Home, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.
