Burglaries and thefts reported

  • A Lawrence man reported to police that between 5:20 a.m. and 6 a.m. Thursday someone broke into his car that was parked in the 1000 block of West 23rd and stole a radio, a compact disc player and an assortment of compact discs. Entry was made by breaking out the driver's side window. The total loss, including damage to the car, was estimated at $1,135. Police have no suspects.

Sheriff's reports

  • Three rifles and a shotgun, valued at $1,120, were stolen between 7:10 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. Thursday from a residence northwest of Lawrence on East 1068 Road. Entry was made through an unlocked door. There are no suspects
