Bernie Kish, director of ticket operations at Kansas since 1992, has been appointed director of the College Football Hall of Fame in South Bend, Ind.

The $14 million museum, currently under construction, is scheduled to open in August.

"No one has more enthusiasm for college football than Bernie Kish," KU athletic director Bob Frederick said. "We will miss Bernie greatly."

Kish, 56, spent 30 years as a U.S. Army officer before joining the KU athletic department.
