Burglaries and thefts reported

  • Assorted automobile parts have been reported stolen from a garage in the 2200 block of Harper. The property, which was valued on a report at $3,030, reportedly was stolen between 12:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. Tuesday. Police said entry was made by prying open a door. Police have no suspects.

Condition reports

  • David C. Westphal, 50, Overland Park, remained in satisfactory condition this morning at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Topeka. Westphal was injured Feb. 15 in a one-vehicle accident about three miles west of Lawrence on U.S. Highway 40.
  • Robert M. Dillon, 68, Pomona, remained in fair condition this morning at the Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan., with injuries he suffered in a car-tractor accident Monday night about five miles south of Lone Star Lake on Douglas County Road 1029.

District court

Criminal charges filed

  • Tyrone Edwards, 19, who was identified on jail records as a transient, was arrested Wednesday on a warrant in connection with the reported robbery of two men on Oct. 8. According to the criminal complaint, one man was robbed of his wallet and its contents and the second man was robbed of his driver's license. Edwards was scheduled to make his first court appearance this afternoon.
