A Perry man was listed in serious condition this morning at a Topeka hospital with injuries he suffered shortly before 10 p.m. Monday in a one-vehicle accident just inside Jefferson County on U.S. Highway 24-59.
Trini R. Rositas, 21, was being treated for multiple traumas in the intensive care unit, according to a spokeswoman at Stormont-Vail Regional Medical Center. He was transported to the hospital by Lifestar Air Ambulance.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said Rositas was driving a 1983 Oldsmobile eastbound on U.S. 24-59 about 9:40 p.m. Monday when it left the road and began sliding sideways in the south ditch. The vehicle overturned several times before coming to rest on its roof.
Neither Rositas nor a passenger in the car, Raul R. Rositas, 24, Perry, was wearing a seat belt. Both were ejected from the car, a patrol spokesman said.
Raul Rositas was treated for a hand injury and released from Stormont-Vail.
