Burglaries and thefts reported
- A 22-year-old Lawrence man told police that a leather jacket and 100 compact discs, valued together at $1,800, were stolen between 7:30 a.m. and 8:15 p.m. Monday from his home in the 500 block of Eldridge. The suspect, a 31-year-old man, had lived at the victim's residence a short time and allegedly took the items when he moved out. Police have not contacted the suspect.
- Police are investigating reports that three motor vehicles parked in the 600 block of Gateway Court were burglarized between 8 p.m. Sunday and 9:30 a.m. Monday. In each case, entry was made by an unknown means. Property taken included a cellular phone, 40 compact discs and a small amount of cash. The loss, including damage to the vehicles, was estimated at about $1,500.
- A 28-year-old Lawrence man has reported that he was the victim of an aggravated assault between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. Monday. The man told police that a 33-year-old Lawrence man threatened him with a .22-caliber pistol during an argument in a residence in the 400 block of Indiana. The suspect has been contacted by police.
