Why did the county paint the baseball diamonds at the 4-H Fairgrounds that unattractive yellow color?

Bill Bell, the county's director of building and grounds maintenance, said the color of paint for the dugouts was selected by Douglas County Amateur Baseball Assn. volunteers, who also provided the labor.

As for the crtitique of the new color scheme, Bell begs to differ.

``It's really not that unattractive,'' he said. ``They sealed (the dugouts) and did a really good job. If anything, some people should be commended for volunteering their time.''
