— Services for Marian Dalquest, 78, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Council Grove United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Joyce Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in Wilsey Cemetery, Wilsey.

Mrs. Dalquest died Friday, Jan. 27, 1995, at Presbyterian Manor in Lawrence.

She was born June 25, 1916, in Wilsey, the daughter of O.L. and Grace Clover Edwards.

A former Council Grove resident, she had been a resident at Presbyterian Manor in Lawrence since July 1994. She attended school near Wilsey and graduated from Wilsey High School.

She worked as a key punch operator and school secretary. She was a homemaker for the past several years. She was a member of Council Grove United Methodist Church, life member of the former Sunrise Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star at Wilsey, which is now the White City Chapter No. 421 of the Order of Eastern Star, and several card and social clubs.

She married Fred V. Gardner in 1941. They were later divorced.

She married Charles Dalquest in 1976 in Wilsey. He died June 19, 1983.

Survivors include a daughter, Ann Gardner, Lawrence; and a son, Gary Gardner, Clearwater, Fla.

Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Kendall Funeral Chapel in Council Grove, where the family will meet with friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

The family suggests memorials to Council Grove United Methodist Church or to the Council Grove Senior Citizens Center. Contributions can be sent in care of the funeral home, 102 North Mission, Council Grove 66846.
