Rob Catloth, who has served as head coach of Kansas Crew Club since 1991, has been appointed head coach of the women's rowing team at Kansas.
Kansas women's rowing, along with women's soccer, will debut as Kansas-sponsored NCAA sports next fall.
"We're very excited to have Rob Catloth as head coach of our new women's rowing program," KU athletic director Bob Frederick said. "He's achieved a high level of success with the crew club at KU and I'm confident that he will develop a strong intercollegiate rowing program."
As head coach of the women's and men's crew club at Kansas, Catloth has directed 22 boats in finals competition and captured 13 medals at the Midwest Collegiate Rowing Championship Regatta. Catloth's varsity men's lightweight eight took first in the 1994 Midwest College Championships and the women's lightweight eight also captured first-place honors in 1993.
Catloth, a 1985 KU graduate, served as an assistant of the women's rowing program in 1984-85 and 1988-90.
