Why isn't there a left-turn signal on Ninth Street turning onto Mississippi any longer?

When new signals were installed at the intersection this past summer, traffic counts revealed that there weren't enough vehicles moving through the intersection to merit left-turn arrows, said David Woosley, the city's traffic engineer.

The findings were based upon standards accepted by the Kansas Department of Transportation.

"If we had it in there, it would delay other traffic," Woosley said.
