SCHOOL PROVIDE FREE MEALS

Lawrence schools again will participate in programs that provide free or reduced-price meals and milk to children whose families meet income guidelines.

To apply for the programs, pick up a form in the principal's office of your child's school.

Following are income eligibility guidelines for the National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program. Not all schools serve breakfast, so check with your school.

  • Family of one: $9,711 for free meals and free milk; $13,820 for reduced-price meals.
  • Family of two: $13,039 for free meals and free milk; $18,556 for reduced-price meals.
  • Family of three: $16,367 for free meals and free milk; $23,292 for reduced-price meals.
  • Family of four: $19,695 for free meals and free milk; $28,028 for reduced-price meals.
  • Family of five: $23,023 for free meals and free milk; $32,764 for reduced-price meals.
  • Family of six: $26,351 for free meals and free milk; $37,500 for reduced-price meals.
  • Family of seven: $29,679 for free meals and free milk; $42,236 for reduced-price meals.
  • Family of eight: $33,007 for free meals and free milk; $46,972 for reduced-price meals.
  • For each additional family member: add $3,328 for free meals and free milk; $4,736 for reduced-price meals to determine the income amount.
