Graveside services for Sam M. Uttinger, 77, Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Uttinger died Thursday, Aug. 3, 1995, at his home in Lawrence.
He was born March 10, 1918, in Lawrence, the son of Theodore and Lula Agnes Dighton Uttinger. He grew up in Lawrence and attended Wellman Grade School. He worked at Sunflower Ordnance Plant in DeSoto for two years. He then worked in trucking for the U.S. government, retiring in 1962. He also served in the Kansas National Guard.
He married Leona Fay Fitzgerald on July 3, 1943, in Belton, Mo. She survives at the home.
Other survivors include three stepdaughters, LaVerna McClure, Lawrence, Virginia Cowger, St. Louis, and Sharon Bass, Milwauka, Ore.; a sister, Effie Hess, Lawrence; nine stepgrandchildren; and 12 stepgreat-grandchildren.
The Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
