— Services for L. Golden McCain, 81, Independence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Noland Road Chapel here. Burial will be in Lee's Summit City Cemetery, Lee's Summit.

Mr. McCain died Wednesday, April 26, 1995, at Research Medical Center, Kansas City, Mo.

He was born Nov. 29, 1913, in Preston, the son of John Arthur and Myrtle Berry McCain. He was the owner and operator of McCain Trucking Co. He retired in 1983. He was also a shoe repairman in the Independence area and in North Hollywood, Calif.

He was married to Gertrude Dempsey McCain. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include four daughters, Margaret Sale and Edna Carrico, both of Olathe, Kan., Shirley Taylor, Kansas City, Kan., and Sadie Deaton, Lawrence, Kan.; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at the chapel, where the family will meet with friends.

The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society in care of D.W. Newcomer's Sons Noland Road Chapel, 509 S. Noland Rd., Independence, Mo. 64050.
